Order the arrest of demonstrators who had broken in Jaffa

At about 11:00 Louis Pasteur Street in Jaffa, which was held picket disturbed archaeological work carried out there on suspicion that instead of tombs, open space and asked police protesters to leave but these were not according to police, 17 protesters were detained for questioning transferred open space.

Later reporting vigil at Louis Pasteur Street in Jaffa, just arrived two buses filled with protesters who violated the order, large police forces instead.

During the demonstration held today Louis Pasteur Street in Jaffa against the archaeological work carried out in a suspicion that there are graves, some forty suspects arrested were detained for riots, attacks on police officers conducting an illegal demonstration. During a demonstration at St Louis Pasteur Jaffa delayed Arrested 50 suspects for questioning, of which 23 suspects were released and 27 were jailed for questioning.

אורי קואל 17:31 , 19/05/2011 גבר בשנות ה-30 לחייו נורה למוות ברחוב שבטי ישראל על-ידי אלמונים, שנמלטו מהמקום. צוותי מגן דוד אדום שהוזעקו למקום מצאו את הגבר כשהוא ירוי בכל חלקי גופו. כוחות גדולים של משטרה פתחו בחקירת הנסיבות של הרצח. כמו כן מתנהל מצוד אחר החשוד או החשודים בביצוע המעשה חשד לחיסול ביפו: גבר כבן 30 נורה למוות בצהריים (ה') ברחוב שבטי ישראל על-ידי אלמוני או אלמונים, שנמלטו מהמקום. פראמדיקים של מגן דוד אדום הוזעקו למקום והחלו לבצע בו פעולות החייאה ממושכות שבסופן הם קובעים את מותו. כיווני החקירה הראשונים מעלים חשד כי הגבר נרצח על רקע פלילי. הגבר נמצא ירוי מספר רב של פעמים כשהוא שרוי על הכביש וקסדה חבושה לראשו. כוחות גדולים של משטרת מרחב דן שכבר נמצאים במקום פתחו בחקירת הנסיבות של הרצח. כמו כן מתנהל מצוד אחר החשוד או החשודים בביצוע המעשה. רק בחודש שעבר נורה למוות אדם ביפו. ב-10 באפריל נרצח צעיר המוכר למשטרה ברחוב אלברט קיוסו. מהירי נפצע גם חברו. השניים נורו בעת שרכבו על אופנוע. בפברואר האחרון נורה למוות ביפו סוחר דגים בן 55 ששהה מחוץ למסעדת דגים באזור הנמל שבעיר. הוא פונה לבית החולים וולפסון עם פצעי ירי קשים וכעבור זמן קצר נקבע מותו. שני החשודים בירי הגיעו ככל הנראה למקום וירו מספר פעמים מטווח קצר לעבר הסוחר, שאינו מוכר כבעל עבר פלילי למשטרה.

As Reported by the Police a Hand Grenade went of on the other side of the Building Saturday Night (Sunday Morning at about 2 am) I had a sleepless night and only Monday I heard this bad News. Ajami is like the Movie.

28th April 2009 at "last minute" found out Zehava Ben star's in Yaffo Gimmel Gan Davidoff.
Mixed Audience Moslem, Christian Ethiopian and all sorts of jews.
I was alone.
Zehava sang Tipat Mazal, Hayim Sheli, Inta Oumri, Ani Shata, Melech Amiti.
She enjoyed the audience but security did not let us to get close.

She has not been able to find a flat and they will evict her and her 6 children out into the streets TODAY.
We can and must prevent it.

Miriam and her 6 children are threatened with eviction out into to streets

Miriam, strong and very bright, has had a tough life. But it taught her how to fight, how to be assertive and how to get what she needs. But now things have taken a worse turn.

Today the police arrived to evict her from the home she squatted about half a year ago, out into the rainy streets.

She has nowhere to go. Quick intervention gave her another two days, in which she must find another flat. Miriam's children all go to school or to a kindergarden except the 2 year old one.
They live on social security. Miriam has a tough time finding employment as her youngest daughter, two years old, has no kinder garden and private childcare is too expensive. The family lives on about 2.400 NIS monthly. But over the last two months Miriam didn't get any money due to a bureaucratic mess. In addition she is entitled to 1200 NIS a month rent subsidy, but given the fact that a small 1 room studio flat in Jaffa costs about 2000 NIS at least per months, the family's chances of finding a rental flat on the public market are close to zero. Of course they are eligible for public housing but the waiting list is taking years, as there are no flats available.
After all, the country has been selling of public housing flats and instead of investing the money obtained from the sales in constructing new public housing (as was the plan), not even one public house has been constructed over the last twenty years inside the green border line. Wages and social security payments have gone down drastically, rent has gone up and rent support has gone down. More and more people are becoming homeless. But no one really seems to care, free market is "great" after all.

If she will be kicked out, the welfare department will take her kids into foster care. Miriam is a good mother. It would make more sense if they would assist her pay the rent. After all putting 6 kids into care would not only be most tramatic for all, but is also very expensive..... Go figure.

And those in Jaffa, we may need you to defend Miriam's home, this week. Stay alert.

Saturday 9th September 2006 was my first night in Yaffo.

27th April 2007 Friday we had a big march in support of sruggle against destroying homes in Yaffo.
Yossi Beilin Yael Dayan Ran Cohen and about 200 Meretz people joined in to over 1000 Marchers in Ajami and Gebalyah area. New Organisation called Vaada Ammamit that united all supporting groups.

28th June 2007.
Asaf and Einat got married at "Lauren's Gallery" in the Old City.
Asaf warned me "Without Politics"...
It was a Perfect wedding but I would not get married there as it is was a bit too much "Andromeda Style" there were Fireworks and Moazin in the background but otherwise not much Arab Culture. Greek Music that reminds of Yaffo in the Sixtie's.
And they had Rekanati Wine... I drank Golan Gamla Cabernet Sauvignon, The said they had Dalton in the Large Celler.
I liked the Old Photo's of Family Weddings. Busayna would probably not feel comfortable there.

4th July 2007, The Adassi house was demolished in Ajami. Disgusting.


My 58th Birthday in Jaffa
Last year I could not celebrate my birthday in the middle of the war in Lebanon
Saturday I invited some friends to "Paul's". Tali Fahima was first to come.
Friday there was a long article about Tali in Maariv. Earlier an interview on Galey Zahal with Yael Dan.
Illa Eyal and Lillo came later. My new Nokia 6070 takes simple pictures like this with Tali taken by Eyal.
